How do I run my own Limited Company?

Setting up and running a limited company is very straightforward, and we help you every step of the way.

To begin with…

  1. You decide on a company name, and let us know what it is.  We then set up the company for you for a one-off fee of £120.
  2. You need to set up a business bank account.
  3. We register you for things like VAT, corporation tax, PAYE etc and complete all the relevant paperwork.
  4. You need to invoice your client or agency (we provide you with a template, which you personalise, then email or post to your client each month).

…and going forward

  1. You’ll be emailed a simple excel spreadsheet and each month you’ll need to enter your income and expense items related to your business.  During the month, make sure you keep all your receipts relating to business expenditure.  Read our guide to what expenses you can claim.
  2. Your client pays your fees into your company bank account, and you then draw a monthly salary from this.  You also have the option to withdraw dividends from your remaining profit.
  3. That’s pretty much it!  You will be required to fill in some basic forms every now and again, but we do the rest, inlcuding your VAT returns, company accounts and corporation tax.
